A little about me…

Originally from St Albans, (a beautiful bustling Roman City 20 miles north of London), I emigrated to the lovely town of Sewickley, in Fall 2016. If I’m not cooking and talking food then I’m busy trying to keep up with my German shorthaired pointer, Beau! She’s a wild one. Often seen chasing deer at Sewickley Heights Park with me running in tow!

I worked as an International Account Manager for a Publishing House for several years and was fortunate enough to travel to many different parts of America, which I absolutely loved. Though I didn’t expect to emigrate, I met the man I wanted to spend all my days with at a conference in Texas and decided to take a (very big!) chance and try out married life in Pittsburgh! While I enjoyed all of the experiences that went along with jetting off, I realized that my true passion is nutrition and healthy eating. I gained a Bachelors Degree in Sport Science at University and later trained as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, so health & fitness have always been a big part of my life and education. It’s where I feel I can make a real difference. I love seeing the positive impact diet and lifestyle can have on peoples lives.

My travels across Europe and America gave me an appreciation for the many cultural differences in the use of ingredients, available cuisines and eating habits. I would describe it as fueling a passion for food and creativity in the kitchen! Food has many different meanings. For me, a home cooked meal may evoke nostalgia and fond memories, or, better still, bring happiness to my husbands face (if I manage to keep the greens well hidden!). It is certainly not consumed for fuel in my house. Meal times are looked forward to and remembered – they are a time for relaxation and variety.

I have learnt that understanding simple flavor combinations and consuming fresh quality produce is the key to a healthy and satisfying diet. It is not about restriction and rules; rather diversity and discovery. Please don’t be scared of change. I can help you adopt new eating patterns that will bring quality to your life. From grocery lists and food prep to recipes and meal planning, I will be there with you every step of your journey. I promise it will be an enjoyable one!
