Indigestion

is a condition where a person has difficulty digesting the food they have eaten. Symptoms include abdominal pain, bloating, tenderness in the upper abdominal area and a feeling of fullness.

Indigestion is often caused by gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastritis, a peptic ulcer and a lack of digestive emzymes. A key influence is also a person’s diet.

What you eat and how much you consume might be playing a role in your indigestion. For example, spicy foods can act as a trigger for acid reflux, whilst over eating and not chewing properly puts additional strain on your digestive system.
